About the summit

A national platform running since 2014

The National ICT Summit, under the leadership of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, has been running since 2014. Formerly an initiative of Telecom Namibia, it was phased into the National ICT Summit to ensure provision of a broader spectrum of stakeholders.

ICT has developed gradually over the years into a facilitator that enables industries and many other sectors of the economy to leapfrog. The Summit has become a significant stakeholder consultative platform to break down the digital divide, making it easier for stakeholders to access key information.

Objectives

What the summit sets out to do

01Provide a creative and unique opportunity, and develop interactions between all ICT experts, policymakers, corporations, industry players and innovators
02Develop a platform for ICT industries to discuss challenges and provide a unique path to stakeholders to show potential solutions
03Empower Namibians to become professionals of ICT, enabling them to unlock the potential of technology and human capital
04Deliver value to the citizens of Namibia, its visitors and investors, equipping the country to become a market leader in the development of ICT in Africa
05Promote and enhance development in the field of technology to push Namibia into becoming competitive across national and international borders
06Raise awareness regarding usage of ICT projects, and provide detailed guidance on how this helps sectors overcome challenges
